The study included more than 23,000 patients of both sexes and all
ages, from 10 to 96 years.
Most of the patients came from the region of Brčko
District and other parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina, adjacent parts of
Croatia, Serbia and Montenegro, however there were some emigrants
originating from these regions living in other parts of the world
(Mostly Western Europe, USA, Canada and Australia) and finally people
from different countries of Western Europe, Northern America, Asia and
Africa who stayed in the region as members of different International
missions after Dayton Agreement or came to Brčko District for other
reasons.

Male to female ratio for the total number of the examined subjects
expressed in percentages was 45.5 vs. 54.6.
